Two feared German bird flu cases seem not to be bird flu cases

Tests fail to detect German bird flu cases. Preliminary tests on two women who are being examined in Germany for bird flu have failed to confirm the presence of the bird flu virus.


In fact, German officials are now saying that they are nearly sure these two women do not have bird flu.


The two women had returned from a holiday (vacation) in Thailand during the weekend.


One of the women is still under observation (doctors say her condition is good).
